Protesting farmers and stockbreeders continued mobilizations, replete with roadblocks, around Greece on Monday in demand for greater and faster state support, the latter in relation to delayed subsidies.
Protesting producers had set up roadblocks using farm equipment at the Malgara toll post on the Athens-Thessaloniki highway south of the latter in the early afternoon.
In northern Kilkis prefecture, protesters blocked the Evzones customs post leading to and from North Macedonia with roughly 150 farm vehicles.
Further south in the town of Alexandria, Imathia prefecture, algo blocked a provincial roadway.
In the central Greece city of Larissa, the epicenter of mobilizations, protesting farm producers also set up roadblocks, with their main demands being state support against the high cost of production, low prices for their products, as they claimed and delayed subsidies.
In the same region of Thessaly, and specifically in the city of Karditsa, representatives of agricultural associations are expected to meet on Tuesday.
