Greek authorities have arrested a father and mother on Crete following a shocking case of sexual abuse within a family. The father allegedly abused his two daughters, aged 15 and 24, over the past two years.

The abuse came to light last Tuesday when the sisters, with the help of their older brother, went to the local police station to report the crimes. The brother, who resides in Lasithi, accompanied them and supported the filing of the complaint.

According to police reports, the 24-year-old daughter, who has intellectual disabilities, became pregnant as a result of the abuse. The child was born and has been placed for adoption with a family outside the island.

The investigation led to the immediate arrest of both parents. The father now faces charges of rape and sexual assault, while the mother is under investigation for domestic violence, including alleged physical abuse of the children.
