Shocking developments have emerged in the case of the 75-year-old woman murdered in Salamina, Greece, as authorities arrested her daughter-in-law, who has now confessed to the crime.
Initially, the suspect presented herself as devastated and claimed ignorance, supporting a story of a home burglary. However, her confession dismantled this narrative, revealing that the attack was carried out by someone within the victim’s family.
The brutality of the assault raised immediate suspicions. The elderly victim suffered severe head trauma from a glass bottle, deep facial cuts, and defensive knife wounds on her hands, indicating she had tried to protect herself. Her advanced age and existing health problems made the ferocity of the attack especially alarming, casting doubt on the likelihood of a simple robbery.
Around €8,000 in cash and jewelry were reported missing from the home. Although authorities initially considered a burglary scenario, inconsistencies in the scene prompted investigators to focus on the victim’s close family.
Under renewed questioning, the daughter-in-law contradicted herself and ultimately admitted to entering the house to take money. She had attempted to stage the scene to resemble a break-in, even breaking a window to support the false narrative.
The local community remains in shock, struggling to comprehend that a member of the victim’s family was responsible for the horrific crime.
