Greece has completed its annual national military exercise “Double-Headed Eagle ’25,” a two-week drill focused on air-defense training and inter-branch coordination. The exercise ran from 2 to 14 November at the Crete Firing Range, the country’s primary long-range weapons testing facility.

According to the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, the drill is a small-scale tactical exercise designed to evaluate the operational readiness of air-defense units and weapons systems. It involved personnel and assets from all three branches of the armed forces, operating under the coordination of the Joint Air Defense Command.

A key part of the exercise included live-fire tests against remotely controlled aerial targets, allowing units to train under realistic conditions. Multiple scenarios were integrated into the programme, enabling forces to practice joint response procedures and assess the effectiveness of command-and-control systems.

The “Double-Headed Eagle” exercise forms part of Greece’s regular operational training cycle, aiming to maintain readiness and ensure that air-defence capabilities remain fully coordinated across the country’s military structure.
