Greece Extends Business Energy Program to Nov. 30

More than 400 businesses will have additional time to complete energy-efficiency upgrades under the “Exoikonomo – Epixeiro” program, which has already allocated more than €54 million to over 1,600 small and medium-sized businesses

The Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy has extended the deadline for the “Exoikonomo – Epixeiro” business energy-efficiency program until Nov. 30, 2026.

The extension applies to more than 400 businesses, which will be able to complete their approved interventions by the new deadline, provided they are at one of the eligible stages of implementation.

Which businesses qualify for the extension

The extension covers businesses currently at one of several stages of the program, including:

  • Pre-checks for the final disbursement of funding
  • The process of selecting an energy inspector to conduct the second Energy Performance Certificate
  • Interim disbursement of funding
  • Legality or implementation checks for interventions under the sixth and final round of approvals
  • Completion of the investment through an energy audit

The program is part of the “Energy and Entrepreneurship” initiative under Greece’s Recovery and Resilience Fund.

More than €54 million has already been allocated to more than 1,600 small and medium-sized businesses through two programs: “Improving the Energy Efficiency of Businesses in the Tertiary Sector – Exoikonomo – Epixeiro” and “I Change Appliances for Businesses.”

The initiatives are intended to help businesses reduce their energy costs through energy-efficiency improvements.
