Another 315 Greek citizens and their family members have returned safely to Greece after being stranded in the Middle East following the outbreak of war between Israel and the United States and Iran.

The repatriation operation took place on Thursday, March 5, under the coordination of Greece’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Authorities arranged a series of flights and ground transfers to bring the citizens back to Athens from several locations across the region.

According to official information, 91 Greek citizens and their relatives arrived in Athens from Abu Dhabi aboard a C-130 aircraft operated by the Hellenic Air Force. The operation was organized with the assistance of the Greek Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

A further 101 Greek citizens and family members returned from Dubai on a special flight operated by Aegean Airlines, also coordinated by the Greek diplomatic mission in Abu Dhabi.

Another group of 113 people traveled from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates to Athens on a commercial flight operated by Air Arabia.

In a separate operation, 10 Greek citizens traveled overland from Jerusalem to the Taba border crossing in Egypt. The group was accompanied by the Greek Consul General in Jerusalem during the journey.

Greek authorities said repatriation efforts are expected to continue in the coming days as the government works to assist citizens affected by the ongoing crisis in the region. Emergency contact numbers and communication details for Greek embassies and consular authorities in Iran and across the Middle East have been made available by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for those seeking assistance.
