A doctor serving in the Hellenic Air Force has been suspended following serious allegations of domestic violence against three former partners, according to a decision by Defense Minister Nikos Dendias.
The officer, who worked as a military doctor, faces multiple accusations of abuse, including physical assaults and harassment. Reports submitted to the Domestic Violence Office describe repeated offenses, raising concerns about potential further victims.
One relative of a survivor told Greek media that the officer attacked three women in 2024 alone, adding that the abuse left visible injuries such as bruises and swollen lips. Another woman alleged that the officer hired men to intimidate her, vandalized her car, and installed a GPS device to monitor her movements.
Court proceedings against him have been repeatedly delayed, as he allegedly used military transfer orders to postpone his trial.
The Ministry of Defense confirmed that he has been placed on leave pending further investigation.
