The Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM) is celebrating a significant academic milestone as all students from its language programs achieved a 100% pass rate in the recent Certificate of Attainment in Greek language examinations.
According to the GCM’s publication this exceptional result is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the students, the unwavering support of their families, and the commitment of GCM’s teaching staff to delivering high-quality Greek language education.
The Certificate of Attainment in Greek is the official qualification recognized by the Greek government, certifying various levels of proficiency in the Greek language. It serves as a valuable credential for further education, career advancement, and engagement with Greek cultural heritage.
A total of 27 candidates — including 15 school-aged students and 12 adults — participated in the 2025 examination cycle, attempting levels ranging from A1 (beginner) to C2 (mastery). All candidates successfully passed their respective exams, earning formal recognition of their Greek language skills.
Students were prepared through a well-structured program of online and hybrid instruction, tailored to support a range of learning needs and schedules. This flexible approach has been central to the GCM’s ongoing efforts to make Greek language learning more accessible to the wider community.
Dr. Nick Dallas, Chair of the GCM Education Committee, praised the outcome:
“We hope the strong participation and performance of GCM Schools in these exams inspires more students to take part in the future. Our main goal remains the promotion, dissemination, and preservation of the Greek language and culture. We are proud of all our students for the dedication, effort, and time they committed to achieving their goals.”
