In a coordinated operation by the Hellenic Police’s Special Suppressive Antiterrorist Unit (OPKE) and the Narcotics Immediate Response Unit, two individuals were arrested in Menidi, northwest of Athens, following a raid on a residence suspected of serving as a hub for heroin distribution.

The operation took place on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 24, after authorities received intelligence suggesting that a 20-year-old woman had turned the property into a base for drug trafficking. Wearing helmets, bulletproof vests, and carrying heavy weapons, police officers forcibly entered the home. A video released by authorities shows the dramatic moment when officers broke down the door and stormed inside.

Inside the house, police discovered 49.5 grams of heroin, a precision scale, and €452 in cash, which authorities believe were proceeds from drug sales.

The 20-year-old woman was arrested on the spot. Alongside her, a 24-year-old foreign national was also taken into custody. The man was already wanted, with a final conviction for drug trafficking and an eight-year prison sentence pending against him.

Both individuals were brought before the competent prosecutor. The 24-year-old has been ordered to be immediately placed in a correctional facility. The 20-year-old is expected to provide a formal statement in the coming days.
