A kiosk employee is fighting for his life after being stabbed during an apparent robbery attempt in central Athens on Tuesday evening, authorities said.
The incident took place in the Exarchia district, at the intersection of two major streets, where the victim—identified as a 49-year-old foreign national—was attacked with a sharp object.
Police officers who arrived at the scene provided immediate first aid, applying a tourniquet to control severe bleeding before the man was transported to hospital. He was admitted for emergency surgery shortly after arrival.
According to initial reports, the attack is believed to have occurred during an attempted robbery. The suspect fled the scene, and a manhunt is currently underway.
