A six-year-old boy was taken to Karamandaneio Hospital on the orders of a prosecutor after his mother was accused of hitting him on a beach in Aigialeia, Greece.
The incident occurred Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, in front of dozens of beachgoers, according to a complaint filed by an eyewitness.
The woman who reported the incident said she saw the mother forcefully slap her six-year-old son while they were at the beach. She immediately alerted police.
Police officers arrived at the scene and arrested both the boy’s mother and father.
Child remains under medical supervision
Following a prosecutor’s order, the child was transferred to Karamandaneio Hospital, where he remains while authorities investigate the circumstances of the incident.
The boy is under medical supervision at the hospital alongside his sister. The parents were released following their arrests.
