A violent clash between two groups of teenagers in the Athens suburb of Varkiza on Sunday afternoon left two minors injured and led to eight arrests. The incident occurred near Poseidonos Avenue, where tensions quickly escalated into a physical fight.
According to police information, two teenagers of Pakistani origin, aged 16 and 17, were injured—likely from a knife attack. One was taken to a children’s hospital, while the other was transferred to a hospital in Voula. Both are reported to be in stable condition. Two Greek youths, aged 16 and 19, also suffered minor injuries.
Police from the nearby Vari–Voula–Vouliagmeni station responded immediately and detained eight young people involved in the altercation. Testimonies were collected from several participants, including a Bulgarian teenager, an Albanian 18-year-old and additional Greek youths.
Authorities believe the minors were split into two loosely formed groups, though the reasons behind the confrontation remain unclear.
