A shocking act of youth violence occurred on Saturday, October 25, in the Athens suburb of Moschato, when a 13-year-old boy was brutally attacked by a group of teenagers.
According to reports, 15 adolescents aged 14–15 approached the boy, verbally abused him, and then six of them began beating him repeatedly in the face and body, leaving him unconscious on the street. Authorities have arrested the six alleged attackers along with their parents, while police continue to search for the remaining nine individuals involved.
The boy’s father described the harrowing experience to Greek media, explaining that his son called him. “He said, ‘Dad, fifteen people hit me badly. My phone is dying, what should I do?’ I told him, ‘Stay where you are, I can see you on the GPS,’” he recounted.
He added that the incident began over a minor verbal exchange. “It involved a girl friend of my son. He called her by a nickname, and one of the others intervened aggressively. My son told him, ‘I wasn’t talking to you,’ but it escalated immediately,” the father explained.
The boy reportedly remained calm during the attack, trying to protect himself without retaliating.
Authorities noted that some of the youths are linked to a local gang referred to as “Gang 183”, a nickname derived from Moschato’s postal code. The police are investigating the full extent of the group’s activities and continue their search for the other nine members.
