A 14-year-old boy is recovering in hospital after being stabbed during what police describe as a pre-planned ambush in a suburb of Athens. The teenager had arranged to meet a 20-year-old woman through TikTok in the area of Cholargos, unaware that others were waiting for him.
According to the incident report, the woman arrived at the meeting point accompanied by a friend and two young men. The two males, aged 17 and 19, attacked the 14-year-old and stabbed him multiple times. Bleeding heavily, the victim managed to reach a nearby café to ask for help.
Witnesses said the boy appeared disoriented and unable to speak clearly. Staff immediately called an ambulance and notified police. He was transferred to a children’s hospital in Athens for treatment.
Attackers Allegedly Boasted Online
Local media report that the two young men appeared to brag about the stabbing on social media, even posting photos of the knife on Instagram. During the attack, the two women present were reportedly laughing.
In a later video posted on TikTok, one of the alleged attackers offered what he described as an “explanation,” admitting the ambush but downplaying the severity of the injuries. “We gave him three stab wounds,” he said, adding that if they had stabbed the boy in the abdomen “he wouldn’t be alive.” He also claimed they acted because they believed their family had been threatened.
He acknowledged having a criminal record but insisted they only targeted people who “provoked” them. He further alleged that the 14-year-old had drawn a knife first—an assertion not confirmed by authorities.
Victim: “They had set me up”
Speaking briefly to Greek television, the victim said the attack stemmed from an earlier dispute. “We had argued, and they stabbed me. They had set me up,” he said.
A café employee who assisted the boy described the moment he arrived seeking help. “He came in injured. The first thing I did was call an ambulance, and then the police. He had cuts and stab wounds in several places,” the witness said, noting that the teenager was in shock and unable to provide contact details for his parents.
Police are continuing to investigate the attack, including the online posts published by the alleged perpetrators.
