Traffic measures will be implemented today, Tuesday, October 28, 2025, across the Attica region due to student parades celebrating Greece’s National Anniversary of October 28. Authorities will enforce temporary road closures and traffic diversions depending on conditions, lasting until the end of the events.
Athens
In the Municipality of Athens, vehicle traffic will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. until the end of the parade on the following streets:
- Vasilissis Amalias Avenue, along its entire length and on all connecting roads up to the first parallel.
- Eleftheriou Venizelou Avenue (Panepistimiou Street), along its entire length and on all connecting roads up to the first parallel.
- Vasilissis Sofias Avenue, between Vasilissis Konstantinou Avenue and Eleftheriou Venizelou Avenue (Panepistimiou), in both directions, and on connecting roads up to the first parallel.
- Syggrou Avenue, between Athanasios Diakou Street and Dionysiou Areopagitou Street.
- Athanasios Diakou Street, along its entire length and on all connecting roads up to the first parallel.
Additionally, around the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens, traffic will be interrupted from 6:00 a.m. until the end of the ceremony on:
- Mitropoleos Street, along its entire length and on all connecting roads up to the first parallel.
Piraeus
In the Municipality of Piraeus, road closures will be in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the following streets:
- Between Omiridou Skylitsi Street and Eleftheriou Venizelou Street.
- Iroon Polytechneiou, between Eleftheriou Venizelou Street and 2as Merarchias Street.
- Vasileos Georgiou Street, between Ethnikis Antistaseos Street and Grigoriou Lambraki Street.
Police Advisory
The Hellenic Police (ELAS) is urging drivers to avoid the above routes during the celebrations and to follow the instructions of traffic officers to prevent additional congestion.
