Greek police have announced a series of night-time traffic restrictions on Poseidonos Avenue, one of the main coastal roads in the Athens area, due to scheduled maintenance works. The measures will be in place from 2 to 5 December and will affect different sections of the avenue on successive nights.
According to the police, traffic will be halted temporarily between 22:00 and 06:00 each day, with vehicles diverted through the remaining open lanes.
2 December
Works will take place near the junction with Alimos Avenue, affecting the direction toward Glyfada. Lanes will close alternately.
3 and 4 December
Restrictions will shift to the junction with Grigoriou Lambraki Street, impacting the direction toward Vouliagmeni. Lanes will again close alternately.
5 December
Multiple closures are scheduled near Alimos Avenue and Vergoti Square:
- The left lane will be closed in both directions near Alimos Avenue.
- The right exit lane toward Alimos Avenue will also close for traffic heading to Glyfada.
- Near Vergoti Square, alternating closures will affect either the right or left lane in both directions.
During all works, traffic will flow through the lanes that remain open. Police are urging drivers to exercise caution, reduce speed when approaching the affected areas, and follow posted signs.
