Health authorities in northern Greece have raised an alert after a tuberculosis case was confirmed in Kastoria. The patient, a man now hospitalized at the University General Hospital of Ioannina, is reported to be in stable condition and responding well to treatment.

Doctors say his health does not cause concern, as he is already undergoing the appropriate antibiotic therapy. They have also stressed that, under modern medical protocols, the patient has not been placed in quarantine, reflecting confidence in the controlled nature of the situation.

Following the diagnosis, authorities carried out contact tracing to identify people who may have been exposed. Initial tests revealed a small number of individuals had contact with the patient, but none have shown signs of illness.

For now, experts note there is no immediate risk of wider spread, though health services remain on high alert and continue to monitor the situation closely.
