Authorities in Athens are investigating a disturbing case of child sexual abuse involving two very young boys. The mother of the children, aged 2 and 4, became alarmed when her older son described inappropriate actions performed by his uncle.

She immediately reported the incident to the police. A medical and psychological examination of the children was carried out with the support of a child psychologist and a forensic specialist. The public prosecutor quickly issued arrest warrants for the 20-year-old uncle and his 40-year-old partner.

The men, a 20-year-old from Romania and a 40-year-old from Albania, allegedly committed the abuse while the mother was away, exploiting the trust she placed in them. Investigators also found videos and photos on their phones depicting the abuse of the boys, along with other child pornography involving children under ten.

The 20-year-old uncle has confessed to the crimes and has been remanded in custody. His 40-year-old partner denies involvement and is scheduled to appear before the investigator on Thursday. Meanwhile, the children are receiving ongoing support and monitoring from a child psychologist.

The case is being closely followed by the police’s Child Protection Division, highlighting the urgent need for vigilance and rapid intervention in cases of child exploitation.
