With rumours of late swirling about the next move of Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks star made it clear in an interview that he intended to close out his career in Milwaukee.
The “Greek Freak” addressed his future just hours before the NBA trade deadline, making it clear that he wants to finish his career with the Milwaukee Bucks, the team he led to its second NBA championship. Speaking to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel ahead of the game against the Chicago Bulls, the Greek superstar said that he genuinely wants to remain in Milwaukee and win even more titles with the team.
It should be noted that Antetokounmpo did not take part in the game against the Bulls due to a calf issue, but he was present with the team to support his teammates.
“What I want from the bottom of my heart is to be a Bucks player for the rest of my career and to win here.”
Referring to his injury and the fact that he returned earlier, which led to him being sidelined again, he added:
“I said no, I’m not sitting out. I’m going to play. Why do I play? Because I have something? Because I’m chasing something? Or because I love my team? I play because I have green blood. I play because I know I’ve built something here. For me, it’s a big puzzle. A big Lego piece that I’ve built, and I don’t like people taking pieces away. I want to keep building as much as I can.”
