Greek champions Olympiacos FC almost pulled off an “Olympian” comeback on Wednesday evening at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium against European giants Real Madrid, finally going down 3-4 in the UEFA Champions League competition.

The MVP of the match, however, was Real’s phenomenal Kylian Mbappé, who made history by scoring three goals within a span of 10 minutes (22nd, 24th and 29th) in the first half.

It was his fourth goal in the second half (60th), making the score 2-4, that would prove to be the edge against the spirited Reds, who pulled one back to make it 3-4 and then pressured for an equalizer.

The match began on a challenging note for the Spanish giants, as they conceded a goal within the first 10 minutes.

Among others, Real Madrid conceded their first goal within the first 10 minutes, while the game also marked Mbappé’s first headed goal with Real Madrid’s jersey.

Olympiacos’ Chiquinho put the Greek champions up in the 8th minute, with Mehdi Taremi (52nd) and Ayoub El Kaabi (81st) scoring the Piraeus side’s second and third goals in the second half, respectively.
