Olympiacos FC and its president, Evangelos Marinakis, this week donated 25,000 euros to Make-A-Wish Greece in support of the charity’s significant work in granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
The donation was announced by Olympiacos FC’s 4th vice-president and general director Kostas Karapapas during a live broadcast by Mega Channel, an act with a distinct message of solidarity and social responsibility.
For almost three decades, Make-A-Wish Greece has been standing by children in the country with serious illnesses, turning their wishes into strength and courage, and transforming the notion of “I wish” into “I can.”
Within this context, the partnership with Olympiacos takes on a special significance, as the two sides continue their joint collaboration of giving, and creating new stories of inspiration and hope for every child who struggles in the face of serious illness but who continues to dream.
According to a post by the widely popular Greek football team, for Olympiacos FC such support of children is not just a symbolic gesture, but a deeply held value.
“For Olympiacos every child has a place in the club’s heart,” the message emphasizes.
