Greece will send eight athletes to compete at the 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Toruń, Poland, scheduled to take place from March 20 to March 22.

The final composition of the Greek team was confirmed after the last updates to the qualification lists, adding three more athletes to the national squad. The team is larger than the group that represented the country at the 2025 championships in Nanjing.

Leading names in the squad

The delegation is headlined by two of Greece’s most prominent track and field athletes:

  • Miltiadis Tentoglou, who qualified through his performance standards
  • Emmanouil Karalis, also qualified by meeting the required mark

They will be joined by:

  • Antonios Merlos
  • Rafaela Spanoudaki-Hatziriga
  • Anastasia Dragomirova

Three additional qualifiers

Three more athletes secured their participation following adjustments to the international rankings and entry lists:

  • Andreas Pantazis (triple jump), who moved from 18th to 15th in the ranking
  • Dimitra Tsoukala (60 meters), rising from 64th to 36th
  • Christos-Panagiotis Roumtsios (hurdles), who climbed from 62nd to 42nd

Athlete declines qualification

Another athlete, George Franks, also met the qualification criteria with a time of 46.12 seconds. However, he informed the national federation that his university commitments in Miami—including participation in the NCAA finals with his 4x400m team—made it difficult for him to travel to Poland in time for the competition.

The final decision on the national team was made following recommendations from the national team officials and event coordinators of the Greek athletics federation.
