Greece’s national basketball team downed Lithuania 87-76 on Tuesday evening in a Eurobasket 2025 quarterfinal match in Riga, Latvia, in a game that was at times much tougher than the final score shows.
NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo again led the Greek side at a venue that resembled a home game for the Lithuanian team, as some 10,000 fans had arrived in Riga from the neighboring Baltic country and were boisterously cheering on their team.
Next up for Greece is an appearance in the semifinals on Friday against an impressive Turkish team.
Antetokounmpo finished with 29 points (nine out of 15 shots), followed by Vassilis Toliopoulos in his best performance so far, finishing the night with 17 points (three out of four three-pointers).
