Greek champions Olympiacos FC will face European powerhouse Real Madrid at home to begin the team’s League Play in the continent’s premier club tournament, the Champions League. The Reds’ next match will be against the other Spanish football giant, Barcelona, at the latter’s Camp Nou Stadium.
The other six teams that the popular Piraeus side will face are, in the following order, Germany’s Bayer 04 Leverkusen (home), Premier League side Arsenal (away), then the two top Dutch teams, PSV Eindhoven (home) and Ajax (away), and newcomer Pafos FC from Cyprus, at home. Olympiacos will conclude its League Phase run in an away game against FC Kairat, in far-off Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan.
