The former captain of England’s national football team, David Beckham, was knighted by King Charles III in recognition of his long-standing contributions to sports and philanthropy.
Sir Beckham was waiting for years for the honor, describing the moment as “the proudest” of his career, marking the culmination of a journey that began in the humble streets of East London and led to one of the most respected honors in the world.

“The King was quite impressed with my suit,” the co-owner of Miami Inter, Beckham, said, referring to the outfit designed by his wife, now Lady Victoria Beckham, specifically for the occasion, speaking shortly after the knighting ceremony at Windsor Castle.
Sir David Beckham said he was deeply excited over his knighthood since he was included in the list of those honored during the king’s birthday last June.
