A learjet carrying Libya’s army chief of staff, Mohammed Ali Al Haddad, along with another four individuals has reportedly crashed after departing Ankara’s Esenboga Airport on Tuesday evening, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced.
According to local media reports, the plane crashed roughly half an hour after take-off, with emergency crews now searching for the wreckage.

“Contact was lost at 20:52 with a Falcon 50 business jet bearing tail number 9H-DFJ that took off from Ankara’s Esenboga Airport at 20:10 this evening bound for Tripoli,” Yerlikaya posted on the platform NSosyal.
“There were five passengers on board the plane, including Libya’s Chief of General Staff, Gen. Muhammed Ali Ahmed al-Haddad,” Yerlikaya added.
