Actual warfare was briefly punctuated by a possible a “disinformation clash” on Monday, with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claiming that Ukraine tried to attack Vladimir Putin’s country residence near Novgorod region.

Lavrov said Ukrainian forces attacked the Russian president’s state residence with no less than 91 long-range drones overnight on Monday, before adding:

“Such reckless actions will not go unanswered,” Lavrov was quoted as saying. He also said all the drones were downed by Russian forces.

At the same time, no evidence was provided of the attack.

In a quick reaction, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed the notion that Ukraine tried to strike Putin’s residence, stressing that Moscow was itself preparing the ground to hit government buildings in Kyiv, according to the Reuters.
