One of Athens’ most beloved literary fixtures, the Book Bazaar, returns this week for its 29th edition, running from January 23 to February 15, offering thousands of book titles at exceptionally low prices, starting from just €1.
For more than three weeks, around 200 publishers from across Greece—members of primary publishing associations—will gather in the heart of the city at Klafthmonos Square, which will once again host the largest and most comprehensively organised Book Bazaar in Athens. The event will be held in a modern, purpose-built open-air and covered venue, designed to ensure comfort and accessibility for visitors.
With over 9,000 titles available, the Book Bazaar promises a rich and diverse selection spanning all literary genres and subject areas, catering to readers of all ages. From fiction and poetry to academic works, children’s books and non-fiction, the fair offers a unique opportunity for book lovers to explore and expand their personal libraries at affordable prices.
The 29th Book Bazaar 2026 will be open daily, including weekends, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., throughout its duration.
The event is organised by the Book Publishers’ Association (S.EK.V.) and the Panhellenic Federation of Publishers and Booksellers (P.O.E.V.), under the auspices of the Municipality of Athens, with the support of the Athens Culture, Sports and Youth Organisation (OPANDA).
