The British series ‘Adolescence’ continues to assert a commanding presence in this year’s awards race, expanding its growing list of accolades following its standout success at the Emmy Awards, where it claimed nine trophies last September.
In recent months, the production has garnered nominations and wins across major institutions in both Europe and the United States, including the Golden Globes, the Critics’ Choice Awards and the Independent Spirit Awards—further cementing its international appeal and critical acclaim.
At this year’s BAFTA Television Awards, ‘Adolescence’ secured an impressive 12 nominations. Among those recognized is Owen Cooper, who leads the cast as a teenager arrested for the murder of a classmate. He is joined in the supporting actor category by co-star Ashley Walters, who portrays the detective.
Additional nominations went to Stephen Graham, Christine Tremarco and Erin Doherty, the latter also earning a nod in the leading actress category for her role in ‘A Thousand Blows’.
Beyond its performances, ‘Adolescence’ has been acknowledged across key technical fields, including directing, cinematography and lighting, casting, and sound—underscoring its all-around production strength.
The BAFTA Television Awards ceremony is set to take place in London on May 10, hosted by Greg Davies, and will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The BAFTA Television Craft Awards will precede it on April 26, with Maisie Adams serving as host.
