The Athens Concert Hall will screen the National Theatre’s filmed production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 8 p.m., bringing Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ celebrated tale of seduction, power and moral corruption to Athens.
The screening will take place in the Alexandra Trianti Hall as part of National Theatre Live, the program that brings filmed productions of major theater performances to cinemas and cultural venues internationally. The production is directed by Marianne Elliott, whose work has helped shape contemporary British theater, and is adapted by Christopher Hampton from Laclos’ epistolary novel.
The performance was recorded at the Lyttelton Theatre in London and will be presented in English with Greek subtitles. Tickets are now on sale.

Set among the French aristocracy on the eve of the French Revolution, Les Liaisons Dangereuses follows the ruthless alliance between the Marquise de Merteuil and the Vicomte de Valmont, who turn seduction and desire into weapons in their schemes.

Surrounded by wealth and privilege, the pair engage in a calculated game of lies, manipulation and conquest. Their partnership proves remarkably effective until their own relationship becomes a battleground.
As their rivalry intensifies, the consequences extend beyond the two protagonists, reflecting the collapse of a social class caught between privilege and decline.
Lesley Manville and Aidan Turner lead the cast
The production stars Lesley Manville as the Marquise de Merteuil and Aidan Turner as the Vicomte de Valmont.
Manville is known for her extensive work in British theater and film, while Turner has appeared extensively across British television, film and theater. Together, they take on two of the novel’s most calculating and complex characters.
Elliott’s production brings the story to the stage through a contemporary theatrical adaptation of Laclos’ 18th-century novel, with Hampton’s version focusing on the destructive relationship between its two central figures.
