As of August 2024, not only would nobody have bet on it, but an Oasis reunion seemed more far-fetched than something out of a science fiction movie. In the 15 years since the band split, the Gallagher brothers had made it clear in every possible way that they had no interest in resolving their differences and burying the hatchet.
But as the saying goes, many have hated glory, but no one has hated money. And the money on offer was too much for Noel and Liam to say no to the reunion. After all, they weren’t offered a simple reunion, but the whole package.
So after the sold-out Oasis Live ’25 tour, the moment has now come for the documentary, a film that will take us inside the world and thoughts of the British band from the moment the Gallagher brothers decided to get back on the same stage together.
Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger will premiere first at the Venice Film Festival, before hitting theaters on September 11, and arriving on Disney+ later in 2026. And now it’s time for a first taste, as the official trailer for the documentary has been released.
“I can’t see myself on the same stage as Liam,” Noel is heard saying when the idea of a reunion was first put on the table. “I don’t want to go back to all that tension. What if it all falls apart?”
Thoughts that would change very quickly, from the moment the two brothers walked hand in hand onto the stage together for the first time in 15 years. “I’d forgotten what Liam means to people. I wasn’t prepared for those intense moments.”
The documentary Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger, written by Steven Knight and directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, chronicles Liam and Noel’s triumphant reunion tour, one of the most anticipated comebacks in rock in recent memory. The film documents the biggest music event of 2025, capturing the experience and emotions of the band and its fans around the world.
The film takes us through rehearsals, backstage, and onstage, as well as Noel and Liam’s first joint interviews together in roughly 20 years. Alongside the band’s world tour, which sold out immediately, the film also explores the deep emotional impact of Oasis’s music and what it means to audiences and generations around the world.
