Greek contractor η Theon International Plc this week announced a revised contract with the EU’s Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR), part of a cooperation with Hensoldt, for the supply of an additional 100,000 night-vision googles (NVGs) for the German armed forces.

Another order for 4,000 NVGs for the Belgian military was also announced.

The new order activates existing options and has a total value of approximately 1 billion euros, making it the largest contract in the company’s history.

The revised contract also includes an option to provide services worth approximately 100 million euros, while it constitutes the largest single procurement of night vision systems ever made by a NATO member state in Europe.

The new contract comes after previous orders signed through OCCAR for 66,000 NVGs for the German Armed Forces and 8,000 for the Belgian Armed Forces, the majority of which have already been delivered.
