These two canapé recipes will brighten your holiday table and wow your guests

Spicy Crab Salad with Pink Grapefruit

Ingredients

  • 150 g crab meat (finely chopped)
  • 1 celery stalk (finely chopped)
  • 1 spring onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp parsley (finely chopped)
  • A few drops of lemon juice
  • A few drops of Tabasco sauce
  • Salt and pepper
  • Pink grapefruit segments

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the crab meat, celery, spring onion, and parsley.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, mustard, lemon juice, Tabasco, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the dressing to the crab mixture and mix well.
  4. Spread the crab salad onto your appetizer bases (crackers, bread, or puff pastry), and garnish each with a segment of pink grapefruit.

Crackers with Katiki Cheese, Forest Fruits, and Pistachios

Ingredients

  • 200 g goat cheese
  • 150 g forest fruits
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • A handful of raw pistachios (crushed)

Instructions

  1. Reserve a few berries for garnish and place the rest in a pan.
  2. Add the sugar and balsamic vinegar and simmer for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  3. Let the sauce cool.
  4. Spread Katiki cheese onto your appetizer bases. Top with the fruit sauce and sprinkle with crushed pistachios.
