Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup whole oats
  • 2 cups almond milk or water
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 4 dates
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of cinnamon
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp almonds
  • 2 tbsp granola
  • A few red fruits or seasonal fruits
  • A little maple syrup

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the almond milk or water, oats, chia seeds.
  2. Add the finely chopped dates, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Stir with a spoon over medium heat.
  4. Once it boils, simmer for 7-8 minutes over very low heat, stirring the ingredients constantly.
  5. The cooking time varies depending on the type of oats, whether they are whole or cut, from 5 to10 minutes.
  6. When the oats soften and the mixture thickens, remove from the heat. At this stage, if desired, you can add a little more milk and stir to achieve a creamier consistency.
  7. Garnish with seasonal fruits or nuts.
  8. As an extra sweetener, drizzle with a little honey or maple syrup.

Enjoy!
