The Greek government has expressed its support for the Gaza ceasefire deal announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, describing it as a milestone for peace and stability in the region.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis welcomed the agreement, calling it “a step toward hope and stability”. In a statement on social media, he urged all parties to fully uphold the terms and reaffirmed Greece’s “commitment to a secure and peaceful Middle East”, adding that Athens is ready to play its part in the process.

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs echoed his position, hailing the Trump-brokered agreement as “historic.” In a series of posts, the ministry emphasized that the deal includes a ceasefire, increased delivery of humanitarian aid, and the release of all hostages.

“It is imperative that all parties adhere to the terms of the agreement,” the MFA stated, noting that successful implementation could serve as “a testament to the power of diplomacy and strong leadership.”

Reiterating Greece’s readiness to contribute, the ministry underscored that the plan marks a crucial step towards a comprehensive solution, lasting peace, and prosperity in the Middle East.
