Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis spoke by phone on Monday with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, with a later post on X by the ministry in Athens referring to a series of issues discussed, including bilateral relations and matters affecting the eastern Mediterranean.
Regional developments were also discussed, although bilateral relations dominated the phone discussion.
Athens and Ankara over the recent period have commenced preliminary discussions to prepare an agenda for a next high-level inter-governmental meeting between the two sides. The latter involves attendance and talks by the countries’ two leaders, Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, along with individual meetings between ministers and ministerial delegations.
