Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Thursday met and dined with Stephen Miran, a member of the US Federal Reserve board of governors and the Trump administration’s appointed chairman (on leave since September 2026) of the Council of Economic Advisers.
America’s top diplomat in Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, was also present.
Miran, who was nominated in December 2024 by US President Donald Trump as chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers and confirmed by the US Senate in March 2025, is considered as among the architects of the Trump administration’s tariffs policy.
He was quoted this week as praising Greece’s economic recovery over the recent years.
Guilfoyle later took to X to post about the meeting.
