Myrto Korovesi, until recently an independent MP, and the current youngest MP in the Greek parliament, is joining PASOK’s parliamentary group following her meeting with Nikos Androulakis on Wednesday afternoon. The move is part of the party’s effort to expand its presence in Parliament, and further additions may be announced in the coming days.

The PASOK leader welcomed the MP, describing her as a young woman, politician and scientist who is eager to contribute to the fight for political change. He highlighted the challenges facing the younger generation, as well as housing and the need to strengthen public health, education and the welfare state, noting that they will fight the next national election together.

For her part, Myrto Korovesi said political change is necessary for all generations. “I am joining in, I am uniting my forces,” she said, adding that she will fight “so that we can shape a country that has room for all of us.”
