SYRIZA: “We’re Here For The Left And The People”

The new communication campaign of SYRIZA kicks off with a video featuring members returning to headquarters, sending a message of unity and renewal

SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance has released the first spot of its new communication campaign, sending the message that the party “is here for the Left and the people.” According to the party’s announcement, the 47-second spot was created with the participation of party members and “gives clear answers to schemes, negative news, and myths that have been deliberately spread and repeated for months.”

The party statement notes that poor choices by the previous leadership, along with mixed messages from lawmakers and officials who later resigned or became independents, fed speculation that the party that once governed the country might skip the next elections or that its historical chapter had closed. SYRIZA insists reality itself disproves these scenarios, stressing that despite the party’s continued shrinking membership, its base remains active. More than 70,000 members have been seeking answers, and members and voters who grew disappointed, stepped back, or temporarily turned to other parties are now returning, marking what the party calls the start of a comeback built on positive news, action, and political counterattack.

In the first spot, Rena Dourou, Pavlos Polakis, and Nikos Pappas arrive at SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance’s central offices, the “Mimis Dariotis” building in Koumoundourou square.

“We are here for the Left and the people. For the rights of the many, not the few. We are returning. SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, for the Left, for Greece.”

At SYRIZA’s central offices, they don’t find empty spaces. Even in the heart of August, they meet members pushing back against narratives of the party’s collapse, Political Secretariat and Central Committee members who come down to greet them, and volunteers working on the party’s organizational and communication rebuild, much like hundreds of officials are already doing across the country.

This is exactly the image that didn’t fit the collapse narrative, and it’s the image of a modern, active, living party that the new campaign opens with.

Members of SYRIZA’s collective leadership are the first to appear. Party members from across Greece and abroad will follow. Dozens of spots will lay out the truth about the party of the Left, present policy proposals and a platform, respond to myths, and mount tough opposition against the New Democracy government and against anyone who questions SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance’s members, principles, and Left values.

Above all, the first spot is a call to action and electoral mobilization for everyone who believes in the modern Left.

With an eye on what it calls the historically necessary unity of the Left and the prospect of a progressive government after the next elections, SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance says it’s leaving behind the staged narrative of collapse and moving into an era of truth, participation, and its radical program.

Left-wing and progressive citizens are returning to action with SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance.

Forty-seven seconds is only the beginning. Press play.
