A 13-year-old girl was found unconscious late Sunday evening in Peristeri, a densely populated suburb of western Athens, triggering an immediate response from emergency services and police. According to authorities, the minor collapsed while spending time with friends after consuming alcohol.
Emergency medical services were called to Orfeos Street, where the girl was discovered in a fainting condition. She was transported by ambulance to a children’s hospital in Athens, where she remains under observation as a precautionary measure.
Police launched an investigation into the incident and proceeded with two arrests. The girl’s father was detained on charges related to endangering a minor. In addition, a 52-year-old kiosk employee was arrested for allegedly selling alcohol to the underage girl, in violation of Greek laws designed to protect minors from alcohol and tobacco products.
Authorities said the alcohol consumed by the teenager was reportedly purchased from a local kiosk in the area.
