Greece has begun the gradual repatriation of its citizens from the Middle East, where conflict between Israel, the United States, and Iran is ongoing. The first evacuation operations were completed on March 3 and 4, under the guidance of the Greek Foreign Minister and coordinated by the Ministry’s Central and Foreign Services.

A total of 162 Greeks and family members were safely returned through the following operations:

  • 93 citizens and their families were flown from Oman on a special Aegean Airlines flight, with coordination from the Greek Embassies in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi.
  • 42 citizens traveled overland from Bethlehem to Egypt under the supervision of the Greek Consul in Jerusalem.
  • 27 members of the youth team of Aris Thessaloniki were transported by air from the UAE to Istanbul, then overland to Thessaloniki, coordinated by the Greek Consulate in Istanbul.

Greek authorities have also published emergency contact numbers for citizens in Iran and the wider Middle East, accessible via the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
