A 7-year-old boy from Veria is in critical condition after sustaining serious injuries on Friday evening in the Agia Paraskevi area of the city. The child was intubated and transferred to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Hippocrates Hospital in Thessaloniki.
According to local reports, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. while the boy was at a church with his mother. He stepped outside to play and was seriously injured under circumstances that remain unclear.
A passerby found the child and immediately contacted emergency services. He was first taken to Veria General Hospital, but due to the severity of his injuries, a rapid transfer to Thessaloniki was arranged. Authorities coordinated what has been described as a “lifeline transfer” to AHEPA Hospital, where the boy underwent surgery before being moved to the ICU at Hippocrates Hospital.
