A 70-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident near Chalkida, central Greece, on Sunday night, Aug. 23.

The crash occurred in Glyfa, Chalkida, shortly after 10:30 p.m., on the road from Chalkida toward the Ritsona junction.

For reasons that remain under investigation, the man’s motorcycle veered off the road and crashed into the wall of a pharmaceutical company. The impact caused him fatal injuries.

Police officers and an ambulance from Greece’s National Center for Emergency Care (EKAB) were dispatched to the scene. The injured man was taken to the emergency department of Chalkida Hospital with serious injuries.

Medical and nursing staff attempted to resuscitate him, but he died from his injuries.
