American Tourist Dies While Swimming Near Mykonos

A 64-year-old American tourist has died while swimming near the Greek island of Mykonos, local authorities confirmed.

The man had been visiting the popular island aboard a professional tourist vessel anchored just north of Rineia, a small islet near Mykonos known for its secluded beaches and proximity to historical Delos.

According to reports, the tourist was spotted unconscious in the sea. The local coast guard was immediately alerted, and a patrol boat was dispatched to the scene. The crew retrieved the man from the water and transported him to the main port of Mykonos.

From there, he was transferred by ambulance to the Mykonos Health Center, where medical staff confirmed his death.

An investigation into the cause of death is expected to follow standard procedure.
