Service on Athens Metro’s Line 3 (blue line) was disrupted on Sunday after a person fell onto the tracks at Evangelismos station, prompting the temporary closure of both “Evangelismos” and “Megaro Mousikis” stations.

According to an announcement by STASY, the city’s metro operator, the stations were closed “due to an attempted suicide at Evangelismos station.”

As reported by the Fire Department, firefighting forces rescued the injured man, who was later taken by ambulance (EKAB). Nine firefighters with three vehicles were deployed to the scene.

As a result, Metro Line 3 is currently operating only between the sections “Dimotiko Theatro – Syntagma” and “Ambelokipi – Doukissis Plakentias.”

Authorities are managing the situation, while metro services are expected to resume normal operations once the incident is resolved. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
