Car Involved in 27-Year-Old’s Abduction, Killing Found Burnt

Police are examining a torched vehicle discovered in a remote area as a possible key link to the kidnapping and execution-style murder of a young businessman.

A burned-out car believed to be linked to the abduction and killing of a 27-year-old businessman has been discovered in western Greece, marking a significant development in the ongoing murder investigation.

Police located the torched vehicle in a hard-to-reach area of Mandra near the Monastery of Agios Ioannis Korakas after an operation by the homicide division. Investigators are examining whether the car was used in the victim’s abduction.

According to police sources, the vehicle matches the description of a blue car that carried fake license plates from Thessaloniki. Authorities believe this is the same car used to force the victim into the vehicle at gunpoint outside his home in Elefsina.

Relatives of the victim appear to have played a key role in locating the car. A family member and his partner were in the area searching for the spot where the victim’s body had been found so they could leave flowers. While there, they spoke with walkers who reported seeing a burned vehicle in a secluded location.

The tip was immediately passed to authorities, who moved in to confirm the vehicle’s presence. The car has since been taken for forensic examination, with crime lab specialists expected to search for critical evidence.

During an initial inspection, investigators did not find the weapon used in the killing. This absence suggests the perpetrators may have removed key evidence before abandoning and setting fire to the car.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to establish the full sequence of events surrounding the abduction and murder.
