A sailing catamaran carrying 10 foreign nationals partially sank Friday in the sea area west of Fleves, an islet off the coast of Greece.

The incident occurred about two nautical miles west of the islet, prompting an immediate rescue operation coordinated by Greece’s Joint Rescue Coordination Center.

Two Hellenic Coast Guard vessels rushed to the scene, along with a yacht’s support vessel flying the Cayman Islands flag.

The support vessel rescued all 10 people aboard the catamaran and transferred them to the yacht. The survivors were subsequently picked up by a Coast Guard vessel and taken to Vouliagmeni Marina.

All 10 people were reported to be in good health.
