Greece’s public employment service (DYPA) has launched a new subsidy program encouraging private-sector companies to hire unemployed individuals, with applications open until April 7 at 11:59 p.m.
The initiative will support 7,000 full-time job placements, offering businesses financial incentives covering between 60% and 80% of total employment costs, including wages and social security contributions. The maximum monthly subsidy is set at €951.57 for a duration of four months.
The program targets unemployed people aged 18 and over and focuses on job creation in specific regions across the country. Eligible employers operating in these areas can apply electronically to participate.
After submitting an application, DYPA reviews whether the business meets the program’s requirements. Employment counselors then match employers with candidates whose qualifications align with the job criteria. Employers make the final hiring decision and proceed with recruitment.
The total budget for the program stands at €23.3 million and is funded through the Recovery and Resilience Facility, part of the European Union’s broader economic support framework.
