As Easter approaches, taverns and restaurants across Greece are reporting strong demand, with many venues already fully booked for the traditional holiday meal.

From neighborhood taverns to upscale hotel dining rooms, hospitality businesses are preparing for one of the busiest periods of the year, offering a wide range of festive menus to accommodate different budgets and preferences.

High occupancy across major cities

In Athens, a major hotel in the city center is offering set Easter menus priced at around €90 for Holy Saturday and €80 for Easter Sunday, reflecting demand for more premium dining experiences during the holiday period.

Elsewhere in the capital, many residents are opting for local taverns, where traditional Easter preparations are already underway. In areas such as Vary, grills are being prepared for the customary spit-roasted lamb, a central feature of Greek Easter celebrations.

In western Athens, a well-known restaurant in Haidari is offering a set menu priced at approximately €31 per person, appealing to more budget-conscious diners.

Strong demand in regional cities

Outside the capital, occupancy rates are also reported to be high. In Thessaloniki, restaurants are already close to full capacity ahead of the holiday.

In the central city of Larissa, a popular restaurant is offering a buffet-style Easter menu priced at €47 per person, while children under the age of 10 are charged €20.

In Patras, hospitality venues are also preparing for large crowds, as locals and visitors gather for traditional Easter meals.

Island and destination dining options

On the island of Rhodes, some venues are combining holiday dining with entertainment offerings, including proposals linked to local leisure facilities.

Across the country, restaurants are adapting their offerings to meet strong seasonal demand, with both urban and tourist destinations preparing for fully booked services.
