Wineries in Greece, from Santorini and Crete to Thessaloniki and Amyntaio will open their doors this Sunday to mark World Wine Tourism Day offering free tours, tastings and special events.
Wine enthusiasts can visit wineries and vineyards, meet passionate Greek winemakers, learn more about production, tour facilities, taste new and aged wines, and discover new labels.
Participating regions this year include the wine producer associations of Northern Greece, Thessaly, Central Greece, Attica, Peloponnese, Aegean Islands, and Crete.

This year’s celebration also includes a photography contest titled “Cheers to Autumn Wine Tourism”. Visitors can post photos from their winery visits on Facebook or Instagram using the event hashtags. Five winners will each receive three bottles of wine.
Originally established in 2009 as European Wine Tourism Day, the event has been celebrated globally since 2019 on the second Sunday of November, when wineries open their doors to the public for free tours and tastings.
